The National Western Selects MaKayla Hoffman as Executive Director of Agriculture Events & Competitions
Denver, CO – The National Western is pleased to announce the hiring of MaKayla Hoffman as its new Executive Director of Agriculture Events & Competitions. Hoffman will join the organization on August 3.
Hoffman brings extensive experience in agricultural event management and livestock competitions through leadership roles with Superior Livestock Auction and Express Ranches. She is also the founder and organizer of the Aggieville Showdown, demonstrating her entrepreneurial approach to developing successful agricultural events.
Throughout her career, Hoffman has participated in the National Western Stock Show and many of North America’s premier livestock events in a variety of capacities, including the Canadian Western Agribition, the American Royal, the Cattlemen’s Congress, and the North American International Livestock Exposition.
Hoffman’s passion for the equine industry began at an early age and has remained a defining part of her agricultural journey. She has been actively involved in the horse industry since childhood, competing through 4-H, open shows, the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), and the South Central Stock Horse Association (SCSHA) before continuing her competitive career at the collegiate level. That lifelong experience has given her a deep understanding of horse show operations, exhibitor needs, and the traditions that make equine events an essential part of the western industry.

In her new role, Hoffman will lead the planning and execution of the National Western Stock Show’s agriculture events and competitions while helping advance the organization’s mission to inspire, educate, and convene youth, families, exhibitors, equestrian competitors, and the broader community. Her experience will support the National Western’s commitment to creating year-round opportunities to celebrate Western heritage, culture, values, and agriculture in its world-class facilities.
