Denver, CO – The National Western welcomed association members to The Legacy, its world headquarters, for the 2026 Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) Annual Meeting of the Members on May 21, 2026.
The annual meeting serves as the official membership assembly of the National Western and provides a recap of the 2026 National Western Stock Show, organizational updates, and a look ahead at future priorities and opportunities.
During the meeting, members elected new leadership positions for the Western Stock Show Association Board of Directors. Bruce Wagner was elected Chairman of the Board, succeeding Douglas L. Jones, who will now serve as Immediate Past Chairman. Barth Witham will remain Vice Chairman, J.J. Ament was elected Treasurer, and Mark “Gus” Gustafson was elected Secretary.
Bruce Wagner is Chairman and CEO of Wagner Equipment Co. and has served on the WSSA Board of Directors for several years, contributing leadership and strategic guidance to the organization and the continued growth of the National Western.
“It is an incredible honor to serve as Chairman of the Board for the Western Stock Show Association,” said Bruce Wagner, Chairman of the Board. “The National Western has a long and meaningful legacy rooted in agriculture, education, western heritage and community impact. I am excited to work alongside our board, leadership team and members as we continue building on that momentum and shaping the future of this great organization.”
Douglas L. Jones concludes his tenure as Chairman of the Board after 7 years of leadership and almost 35 years of service to the association and will continue supporting the organization as Immediate Past Chairman.
“Serving as Chairman of the Board for the Western Stock Show Association has been one of the greatest honors of my professional and personal life,” said Doug Jones. “I am proud of what this organization continues to accomplish and grateful for the people who make it possible. I look forward to continuing to support the National Western in my new role as Immediate Past Chairman.”
Joining the officers on the WSSA Board of Directors are Sue Anschutz-Rodgers, Terrance Carroll, Justin Cumming, Dr. Kelly Tisher, Court Wold, Brooke Fox, Dr. Tony Frank, Michael Long, Guy McEndaffer, Stanton Dodge, Nancy Tuor, Luke Lind, Michael Long, Pat Grant (Chairman Emeritus), Dr. G. Marvin Beeman (Director Emeritus) and National Western President and CEO Wes Allison. Pete Coors continues to serve as Chairman of the Capital Campaign, supporting the continued advancement of the National Western Center and The Legacy.
