The “Best 16 Days in January” Kicks Off with Record-Breaking Weekend Attendance

The National Western Stock Show (NWSS) is excited to announce a record-breaking opening weekend. The 114-year-old Colorado tradition brought in crowds totaling 106,921 for the first two days of its sixteen-day event. Previously, the largest opening weekend was in 2018 with 103,546 guests.
The opening Saturday attendance record also was the largest in Stock Show history, coming in at 57,386. This number broke the 2019 record of 53,806 guests.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the best 16 days in January,” said Paul Andrews, NWSS President and CEO. “We are thrilled with the number of people that came out to celebrate Colorado’s western heritage with us.”

For those who couldn’t attend over the weekend, tomorrow, January 14, is Free Grounds Admission Day compliments of Arrow Electronics. Guests can enjoy a host of activities, including the Miniature Zebu Show, the National Western Nursery presented by Murdoch’s, Fabulous Farm Animals kids shows, Colorado’s largest western trade show, Quarter Horse and Paint Horse shows and much more.

“The number of things to do and see across our grounds are endless,” said Andrews. “Being able to come enjoy them for free is a perfect family getaway.”

In addition to free admission, guests also can park for free at Coors Field. The Coors Field lot opens at 8 a.m. daily, and shuttles provide guests with a convenient 10-minute ride to the complex, dropping passengers off directly outside the Denver Coliseum.

Grounds admission and event tickets are on sale now at nationalwestern.com, all King Soopers locations and the National Western box office.
