PRESS RELEASE: Western Stock Show Association Elects Two New Members to the Board of Directors

Denver, Colorado, October 18, 2018   –  The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) elects two new members to serve on the Board of Directors, Mr. Michael J. Long and Mr. Bruce Wagner.

Michael J. Long is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arrow Electronics, Inc. Prior to being named CEO in May 2009, Mike served as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Arrow, with responsibility for all of the company’s operations and business units – Global Components and Enterprise Computing Solutions.

Mike has been with Arrow since 1991 when Arrow merged with Schweber Electronics, a company where he held various leadership roles from 1983 to 1990. In 1994, Mike was President, Capstone Electronics, an Arrow company, and from 1995 to 1999, he was President, Gates/Arrow Distributing. From 1998 to 2005, Mike was President and COO, Arrow North American Computer Products (now Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions). Mike was named one of Computer Reseller News’ “Top 25 Executives” in 2002 and 2004.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He is active in the Young Presidents’ Organization, a global peer networking group. He serves on the Board of Directors of AmerisourceBergen. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Denver Zoo. His family is active in equestrian activities across the country.   Mike joined the WSSA in 2012, is a current Trustee and has been a partner of the NWSS for several years.

Bruce Wagner is President and Chief Executive Officer of Wagner Equipment Company. Bruce has been with the company since January 1977.  He has held the positions of Sales Promotion Manager, Product Support Representative and Manager, Branch Administration Manager, Lift Truck General Manager, and Engine Division General Manager.  In 1989, he was named Vice President of Wagner’s Industrial Division (covering our Engine Division and former Lift Truck Division) and later became East Slope Sales Manager.  Bruce was appointed President in 1994, Chief Operating Officer in 2000, and Chief Executive Officer in 2012.

Bruce is a native of Dallas, Texas.  He received education from Texas Tech University and has served on multiple boards including: Aurora Economic Development Council, Colorado Academy, Colorado Contractors Associate Board, Colorado Council on Economic Education, Denver Academy Board, Denver Area Council Boy Scouts of America, Denver Chamber of Commerce Board, Denver Zoological Foundation & Past Board Chair, Hospice of Saint John, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Rocky Mountain Chapter, Mountain States Employers Council Board, Red Rocks Advisory Board, and the Young Presidents’ Organization.  Currently, Bruce serves on the boards of Children’s Hospital Colorado and Round Up Riders of the Rockies.

He is a current Trustee of the WSSA; of which he became a member in 1994.  Bruce is an avid supporter of all National Western Scholarship Trust events, a long-time exhibitor, and sits on the WSSA Capital Campaign Committee. Bruce is also the Co-chair of the Jr. Auction Committee, along with Buck Hutchison.

Long and Wagner join members of the board, Sue Anschutz-Rodgers, Pete Coors, Justin Cumming, Don Elliman, Brooke Fox, Dr. Tony Frank, George G. “Buck” Hutchison, Guy McEndaffer, Nancy Tuor, Barth Whitham and Ron Williams. Board officers are Pat Grant, Chairman; Doug Jones, Vice Chairman; Mark Gustafson, Secretary; Terrance Carroll,Treasurer; and Paul Andrews, President and CEO.
