Champion, reserve champion and honorable mention art pieces will be displayed at the 2026 National Western Stock Show. Please note that non-winning artwork is not displayed.
Grand Champion & Reserve Champion artwork will be professionally framed or matted by Abend Framing.
Grand Champion artists will receive a custom belt buckle compliments of Alpine Bank.
Grand Champion & Reserve Champion artists are invited to join us at the Ace Highs Mixer on January 11 to be recognized for their winning artwork.
Each entry and each teacher will receive two grounds admission tickets for opening weekend of National Western Stock Show (January 10-11, 2026).
Artwork Rules:
Theme: Western lifestyle
Two-dimensional, no larger than 16”x20” (Please note that artwork with a low rise/not completely flat WILL be accepted.)

Contest is for grades 1-12
One piece of art per student may be submitted

Selection & Judging:
Entries to be judged by the NWSS Youth Art Judging Committee.
Winners will be selected and notified by December 19, 2025.
One champion and one reserve champion will be selected per grade, 1st-12th.
Honorable mentions will be selected per grade at the judging committee’s discretion.
Don’t forget:
Select Alpine Banks and the South Box Office at NWSS will serve as artwork drop-off locations.
Artwork must be dropped off in person at listed drop-off locations. Digital entries will not be accepted.
Artwork must be entered through the online registration form. Please attach the confirmation email to your artwork prior to drop off.
