Denver, CO – National Western will host the 60th Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition & Sale Oct. 2-3 at the Legacy, marking the first time the prestigious Western art exhibition will be held in Denver. The Legacy, the National Western’s year-round event venue that opened in January, will host the annual exhibition and sale through 2030.
The exhibition will also be open for free public viewing Monday, Sept. 28 through Thursday, Oct. 1, offering visitors an opportunity to see more than 120 works of Western art. Tickets for events Oct. 2-3 range from $150 to $450 and are available online through Cowboy Artists of America.
Founded to preserve and promote the art and heritage of the American West, Cowboy Artists of America (CAA) is a nationally recognized organization of professional Western artists. Its members are known for artistic excellence, authenticity and storytelling that reflects cowboy culture, Western landscapes and the people and traditions of the West.
The 60th anniversary exhibition will feature work from active CAA members, four emeritus members and newly inducted member Con Williams.
“The Cowboy Artists of America are proud to introduce Con Williams as our newest member,” said CAA President Mikel Donahue. “Con is a sculptor from Banner, Wyoming, and his work has been accepted into numerous juried exhibitions and private collections throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Con’s work will be included in this year’s 60th Anniversary Exhibition & Sale.”
Membership in Cowboy Artists of America involves an extensive selection process that includes a review of the artist’s portfolio and original artwork, interviews and interaction with current members. Williams also participated as a guest in CAA’s annual Trail Ride before receiving approval from a majority of the membership.
